Spring 2022 Enrollment

The total enrollment for Spring 2022 was 84,968 with students taking 1,067,493 credit hours. Total enrollment and credit hours declined by -1.3% and -1.8% respectively.

Underrepresented and domestic students of color achieved record enrollments, 17,052 and 22,572 respectively. All campuses set a record for the percent share of enrolled students of color. IU also has record numbers of Hispanic and Asian American students. International enrollment increased 4.6%, the first increase since spring 2017.

Graduate enrollment set a new record at 20,694 students. IU also set a record for first generation graduate students totaling 4,257. 

Students taking at least one online class increased 37% since 2020. IU also has a record number of students enrolled in plans flagged as 100% online, +26% since 2020.
